Information For: Alumni
Welcome WSSP Alumni!!
The WSSP started in 1993 and is still going strong! Over the last 29 years we have expanded from 6 high school teachers and 18 students in the central New Jersey region to as many as 1300 students in more than 50 high schools across the nation, including Maryland, California, and Hawaii. During this period we have changed the research project from the Great Apes, to the Mother of All Onions to our current project sequencing novel DNA fragments. Connect here for a list of the projects over the years and to connect to the year that you were involved in the program. We have also included pictures of the students that we have collected over the years.
We have listed all the DNA sequences that have been published by each school over the years. For example, connect here to view the sequences that were published by each school during the 2021-2022 school year. Please make sure your sequences are listed if you completed them and let us know if they are not posted.
Please take our Survey about your impressions of the WSSP! (link to survey)
We would really like to hear what you are now doing in college or in your career! We are very interested in knowing if you continued your education and career in the sciences after participating in the WSSP. We would also to know your impressions on how you think the program may have helped you and what we could do differently. This information is very helpful to us and is extremely important in helping us obtain funding to continue the WSSP in the future.
